How do I request an item through interlibrary loan?

Answer

Interlibrary loan (ILL) allows Brooklyn Law School students, faculty, and staff to access books, articles, and other materials from libraries across the United States. ILL should be utilized for items not already owned by the Brooklyn Law School Library.

If you are having difficulty with making an ILL request, contact the library at blsill@brooklaw.edu, including any bibliographic information for the material you need.

To submit an ILL request, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Brooklyn Law School Library catalog (https://sara.brooklaw.edu) online.
  2. Sign in using your Brooklyn Law School username and password.

  1. Once logged in, select the ILL tab at the top of the screen.

  1. Click “Create Request.”

  1. Select the form that best matches the type of item you need. The library can request either loans of whole items, or copies of journal articles or excerpts.

  1. Fill in the form with as much information as possible about the item you are looking for, your contact information, and submit the request.
